Teacher-Student Relationships

In terms of classroom management strategies, Establish is the foundation. In the EER framework, it includes two important parts: establishing expectations and establishing relationships.

 

Establishing relationships focuses on intentional relationship-building. Strong teacher– student relationships are consistently linked to improved

engagement, behaviour, and academic outcomes. When we establish positive teacher-student relationships, we are setting the stage for other academic and behavioural interventions to succeed.

 

Importantly, Establish Relationships needs to be intentional. These are skills teachers can and should learn, the research proves this!
